About me
Miss Muriana kafayat Temitope is a Nigerian film costumier and costume designer with a passion for visual storytelling and character development. Her journey in the Nigerian film industry began in 2007, and over the years, she has built her expertise through professional training, hands-on experience, and collaborations with respected industry professionals.
Her educational journey took her to Lagos State University, Ojo Campus, where she graduated in 2011. Inspired and encouraged by film producer Mr Kehinde Adeyemi to further her education, she pursued her academic goals while maintaining her connection to the entertainment industry.
In 2016, she returned to the movie industry and underwent professional training under veteran actress and producer Lola Awe, where she developed her skills in costume design over three years. Since establishing herself as an independent costumier in 2021, she has continued to contribute to film productions through creativity, dedication, and attention to detail.
Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work with notable industry professionals, including Kazeem Omo Baba Oba, Tolu Elijah (Originator), Abbey Lanre, and producer Peju Johnson.
One of her notable production credits is The Wrongs, produced by Peju Johnson and directed by Azeez Ijaduade, where she served as the film's costumier.
For Temitope, costume design goes beyond selecting outfits. It is about understanding characters, interpreting stories, and using clothing to communicate personality, identity, emotion, and authenticity on screen.
She remains committed to excellence, continuous growth, and contributing to the evolving Nigerian film industry through thoughtful and professional costume design.
